Found money
Found money, not a loan.
Refundable tax credits. Cash from CRA, even if you owe no tax this year. No equity, no repayment, no strings.
SRED for agencies
Other firms looked at your business card and said “you don’t qualify.” We look at what you actually build - and we’ve turned it into government cheques, starting with our own.
Success-based fee · Audit defense included · “No claim, no fee - and we tell you in the first call if it’s not there.”
The stakes
SRED gives you 18 months after your fiscal year-end to file. After that, the credit is gone - permanently. No appeal, no extension.
Meanwhile, the SaaS company next door claims $80K a year for work no more “technical” than the dashboard your team reverse-engineered from three broken APIs. The only difference: nobody told them they didn’t qualify.
A typical agency with 10–20 staff and one internal platform can be sitting on $30,000 to $100,000+ per year in recoverable credits. If you’ve never filed, up to two fiscal years may still be on the table right now - and the clock on the older one is already running.

The guide
Every SRED firm we asked gave us the same five-second answer: “Marketing companies don’t qualify.” They never asked what we build. So we read CRA’s three eligibility tests ourselves, filed our own claim - and got funded.
That’s when we saw it: thousands of agencies and consultants build real technology inside service businesses, and the whole SRED industry walks past them. My Tech Passport exists to fix that.
The plan
Step 01
30 minutes, free. A real eligibility call, not a sales script. If there’s no claim, we say so - and tell you what would make one next year.
Step 02
2–4 weeks. We interview your builders, map eligible projects, write the CRA-grade narrative, and run the financials. Your time: a few hours.
Step 03
60–120 days. We file, handle CRA questions, and defend the claim if reviewed. The refund lands. That’s when we get paid.
The details
The Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SR&ED) program is Canada’s largest R&D incentive, paying out over $3 billion a year in tax credits. It refunds 15–35% of eligible costs federally - up to 43%+ with Ontario top-ups for Canadian-controlled private corporations.
Most agencies assume it excludes them because marketing services are indeed excluded. But agencies that build custom technology - attribution platforms, data pipelines, AI tooling, automation systems, client portals - perform eligible experimental development inside their service business.
When that work involves technical uncertainty and systematic experimentation, it qualifies, whether the company’s business card says “agency” or not. My Tech Passport specializes in finding, documenting, and filing exactly that work for agencies and consultants.
What you’re avoiding
Every fiscal year older than 18 months is gone forever. Most first-time filers lose at least one year they could have had.
Your accountant does your taxes; a generalist SRED firm does tech companies. Nobody’s job is finding your claim. Until now.
Claims fail on framing, not eligibility. “We built a dashboard” gets denied. Documenting the uncertainty, failed approaches, and experiments gets approved.
Funded agencies reinvest refunds into tooling, people, and pricing. Unfunded agencies compete against them with after-tax dollars.
Success
A $60,000 refund is a senior developer for six months. It’s the AI tool you couldn’t justify building. It’s a buffer that lets you fire your worst client.
And it’s repeatable. Once your claim process is built, every year gets easier - same projects, same documentation habit, same cheque. Our clients stop thinking of SRED as a tax thing and start thinking of it as a revenue line that shows up every spring.
Prior firm charged 25% for one page. We opened payroll and roughly doubled the claim.
Ten years building tools like a development company. Zero SRED until we showed them Quebec's upside.
Other firms said too small, not innovative. Three claims filed in 18 months.
Thought a CRM automation company could not claim. They filed and improved the process.
